Discord is a social media platform that supports group messaging and voice/video chat. With Discord, you can share photos from the conference, reach out to other attendees, ask questions during and after sessions, join or organize informal networking activities, and engage in random social chatter.
Instructions
1. Download and install Discord on your phone or laptop.
This server will be private to our community. Only registered participants of NCAPP 2023 will be allowed to join.
Optional steps
3. Edit your User Profile to add a picture to help others recognize you online.
•On the mobile app, swipe left to see the member list, click on your name, and click “Edit User Profile”.
•On the desktop app, click your username in the lower left, then click the “Edit Profile” pencil icon.
4. Edit your Server Profile to add a nickname (how you want your name to appear on messages).
•On the mobile app, swipe left to see the member list, click on your name, and click “Edit Server Profile”.
•On the desktop app, click “NCAPP 2023” on the upper left, and click “Edit Server Profile” (near the bottom).
5. By default, you will be notified only if someone @mentions you. We recommend you enable notifications for all messages on the announcements channel.
