About POGIL Workshops

We want to help instructors make their classrooms and laboratories more student-centered. Our Workshops are the best way for people to begin.

Experiencing POGIL as a student (at a 3-day workshop) helped me, as the instructor, to better understand the role of the classroom facilitator and will lead to a stronger, more productive role as the classroom teacher.

Attend a POGIL Workshop

The POGIL Project holds workshops (both in person and virtual) throughout the year, as well as multi-day workshops during the summer in various regions around the country and also in virtual formats.  Attendance at these workshops is limited, and prices vary depending on location.

POGIL workshops are highly interactive and model how POGIL is actually used in a classroom setting. In both virtual and in-person workshops, participants will be active members of teams, use roles, and work collaboratively at all times.

Please check our calendar for the most current information.  You can also find standard in-person agendas for our workshops at this link.

"This workshop was an eye-opener about how to engage people in a virtual environment. POGIL really practices what it preaches — there is no turning off your camera, or tuning out to do the laundry! Instead, my fellow participants and I spent the entire time engaging with each other and the facilitators, and came away with a much deeper understanding of how workshops and classrooms can be effectively conducted in the digital age!"

Bring a POGIL Workshop to Your School

For a fee, The Project will also provide workshops in your area or in a virtual format, depending on availability of facilitators. If you have a specific date in mind, please enter that when you submit your request.  We can also work with you to design an ongoing POGIL experience over the course of a year.  Please contact Marcy Dubroff (marcy.dubroff@pogil.org) in the National Office for more information. POGIL workshops often work well as professional development days or if you are seeking a meaningful teaching and learning experience for your faculty.

You may request additional workshops in your region using this form, or you may request one of the other ways The POGIL Project might be of service to you.

Presentations, Symposia, or Meetings

Please enter as much information about your event as are able when you make a request for a POGIL presenter. If you wish to invite The Project to hold a symposium at your meeting or conference, please also email the invitation to the following email address: pogil@pogil.org.

Consultancies

Experienced Project members are available, by arrangement and fee, to visit you at your institution to provide in-depth guidance or consultancies for you and other interested members of your institution.

On-Site Visits

Alternatively, on-site visits allow you to visit classrooms and laboratories at an institution where POGIL has been fully and successfully implemented.
