Kristen Evans manages fundraising and donor communications efforts for the National Office. She oversees the annual appeal, stewardship, and the creation of the annual Community Report. She has more than a decade of professional experience, spanning roles in college communications, marketing, fundraising, and nonprofit development. 

Prior to launching a copywriting and content strategy consultancy in 2015, Kristen was the Grants & Communications Manager at 826 Boston, a literacy nonprofit that supports the needs of underserved students in Roxbury, MA. In addition to writing and submitting 826 Boston's grant portfolio, she helped direct the organization's external communications and manage volunteer fundraisers. 

Kristen graduated summa cum laude from Franklin & Marshall College in 2007 with a B.A. in English. She holds an M.A. in Literature and an M.F.A. in Poetry from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she taught both composition and creative writing. She has published features and book criticism in BuzzFeed, Kirkus Reviews, Literary Hub, The Los Angeles Times, and The New Republic, and she co-hosts the book recommendation podcast, "Blind Date with a Book." She is the author of a book of poetry, MAMMAL ROOM, and is at work on a novel.
