Joan Roque, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Westminster College, Utah. She completed her bachelor’s degree in chemistry at the University of Puerto Rico at Cayey and her graduate degree in chemistry at North Carolina State University. After completing her PhD, she received an NIH Research Supplement to Support Diversity and completed her postdoc at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She then joined Westminster College and learned about student-centered teaching strategies, including POGIL, which she has been using since then.
