Ellen joined The POGIL Project as Director of Development in January 2025 after a 40-year career in nonprofit leadership. In this role, she is working to expand opportunities for philanthropic investment in The POGIL Project by individuals, corporations, and foundations, putting donor stewardship at the center of her work.

Early in her career, she worked on an array of professional and curriculum development projects with teachers from the School District of Philadelphia and faculty from Philadelphia-area colleges. She later focused her career on fundraising, garnering resources for Swarthmore College, Franklin & Marshall College, and Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences, as well as several community organizations in Central Pennsylvania. She earned her B.A. in History from Colgate University and her M.A. in History from Temple University.

When not working, Ellen can be found reading a good British mystery, knitting a hat, walking her two dogs, planning her next international trip, or watching the birds outside her kitchen window. She and her husband, Jeff, live in Manheim Township, where they closely follow the online exploits of their three young adult children and two granddaughters.
