Held every two years, NCAPP is designed for POGIL practitioners to come together to share new ideas, engage in in-depth discussions, interact with a diverse community of teachers, and gain a deeper mastery of the POGIL approach. Educators leave this special conference reinvigorated to improve, enhance, and transform education for their students.

The Jim and Kathy Spencer Fund to Advance POGIL Practice is named for two longtime educators who have been integral to the growth of The POGIL Project. Jim is one of the founders, and also served as a leader on the original National Science Foundation grant that funded nationwide training for educators to learn the POGIL approach.

With your gift to The Jim and Kathy Spencer Fund to Advance POGIL Practice, you are helping to create a sustainable source of support for educators to take their classroom skills to new levels, and have an even greater impact on student learning. NCAPP welcomes teachers from a wide range of classroom settings and disciplines, creating a rich environment in which to share ideas and build community. Prior to each NCAPP, we hear from interested teachers all over the country seeking scholarships to attend the conference. More and more, institutions are unable to provide adequate funding for professional development. By supporting the Spencer Fund, you are filling a critical need to help educators receive the training and support to be the best teachers they can be.
