Open Position - Director of Development

The POGIL Project is seeking a dynamic fundraising professional to join our team.  

The POGIL Project (www.pogil.org) is seeking applicants for a Director of Development to start on or after July 1, 2022. The responsibilities of this part-time position (20 hours/week) include:

  • the coordination of The Project’s annual fundraising and publicity plans and initiatives including the management of the production of the annual community report
  • seeking to increase the organization’s donor base
  • generating greater engagement from the POGIL community
  • helping to develop new ways to market The Project.

The person will work closely with the leadership of The Project and be responsible for seeking out opportunities—corporate, private, or governmental—to support the activities of The POGIL Project. This may include researching, developing and assisting in writing grant proposals, cultivating relationships with funders and potential sponsors, and developing partnerships with organizations or individuals who may support The Project and its goals. 

Qualified candidates will possess outstanding writing and editing skills and an enthusiasm for creative/innovative communication strategies that utilize multiple paths (social media, digital media, direct mail etc.) Experience in fundraising and grant writing for non-profits is preferred. Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple pressing deadlines are crucial.

Experience in the education sector is preferred, but not required. Working at The POGIL Project is an opportunity to be part of a vibrant and energetic team.
